Underfloor heating is the most comfortable way of heating your house. With underfloor heating the whole floor radiates heat, creating a pleasant and equal heating effect. This is the perfect way to insulate any room when laying under-floor heating where an adhesive is required to stick the flooring down (i.e. ceramic, slate, stone, marble, etc).

Un-insulated floors will act as a heat sink absorbing most of the heat energy created by the under-floor heating, if you choose not to insulate the floor before installing under-floor heating you will find that the power usage will be at least double that of the same system with insulation.

By installing insulation between the sub-floor and the under-floor heating system the heat energy is forced upwards through the floor covering, this will ensure the rooms ambient temperature is reached more efficiently and allow the thermostat to switch as needed.

By adding insulation boards to your installation you will immediately save up-to 50% on your heating cost compared to installing on a bare sub-floor.
